Perhaps I have outdated information...AirWolf87 said:Guy trust me I fly a turbo charged Cessna 172 with carbon fiber Wing struts (wing supports) and a carbon fiber prop......trust me they do not break into a thousand pieces over time. ferrari makes some of it's chasis with it. The airforce uses it in some of its stealth fighters. Technology has made it so cured the right way, carbon fiber is one of the stroggest materials available today.
So you're saying that an aluminum driveshaft is larger in diameter than the stock steel one? I have 2 1/2" Magnaflow catback and plan to get their X-pipe. Would I have any problems with the FRPP aluminum ds fitting?blumi00GT said:I had clearance issues before due to bad fitting of my flowmaster mufflers, so an aluminium driveshaft would had never been fitted.

i have had a carbon fiber bike fork break on me when i was a kid though. I think it was carbon fiber.Kilgore Trout said:Perhaps I have outdated information...
droptopponynj said:Nice driveshaft. The cool thing i've heard from some guys using them is there is a rebound effect with the carbon fiber. Kind of like a rubber band. Where the power is absorbed into the driveshaft and sprung back out like a whiplash. Not sure how true it is but i've heard it from more then one source.
if it reduces rear end stress i imagine it might reduce some stress to the engine too right?blumi00GT said:That is true indeed. But the effect works in the microsecond-area. So you won't feel it, but the amount of stress to the cars rear end is reduced.
