Engine Pvc filter check help

Beginner here, Having oil leak problems mostly sitting where I circled in red, got some help from people on here to check pvc filter I popped out the

Did the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV, PVC may be the plastic the valve is made from) valve come out too easily? I have had the gasket get old, squishy, loose and leak. The brand new gasket was not a lot tighter.
