make sure u use a comalong or something to pull the old quarter close to where it was before u cut it off, get all ur body lines lined back up where they are suppose to be, then take a spot weld drill bit and drill all the spot welds out of the damage quarter to remove it. drill holes in ur new panel the same distance apart as the spot welds where, lay the new panel in place and mark where u need to cut the old on off at the sail panel. mark sure this cut is perfect. its best to cut it a little long and trim it to fit. clamp the new quarter in place and make sure all ur body lines and gaps look good, once u weld it u wont be able to move it. once u have it where u want it start welding up the holes u drilled. make sure to skip around and keep an eye on all ur gaps, the heat from welding can cause it to move on u. when u make the butt weld at the sail panel, weld and inch at a time. make sure to skip around here to avoid warping the metal. if u get it to hot it will sink in and u will end pu having to use a ton of bondo to cover it, this is not good so be careful here. its not a very easy thing to do right the first time but if u take ur time and go slow and keep an eye on everything u will be ok. feel free to pm me if u have any questions. i was a body man and now manage a body shop so i can help u out.
