I have a rag top with a glass rear window do you have to unzip the rear window and put it down yourself before you drop the top? Will the windnow and top be alright if you just put the top up and down with out unziping it?

I guess I'll agree with everyone else here.... Leave it zipped!

Bet it would be a pain to hold the glass and try to re-zip the window.

Unzipping the window is better for the top - esp if you leave the top down for a long time. It helps remove stress on the bottom corners where the glass attaches.

Good luck.

DO NOT unzip the glass when you put the top down. It will almost certainly break the window.

Unzipped

The purists say to unzip the window and to pull the top so that the folds are outward, toward the rear of the car, as the top lowers. That being said, zipping the window back-up is a pain. If the top is going to be down for a while, I unzip. For short trips I just leave it zipped.

I've had both types of tops cloth and vinyl, I've NEVER had a problem with leaving them zipped. I did have a problem when I left my jack sitting up near the top motor and the glass came down on it and blew up. but that would have happened no matter what when I hit a bump.

I'd say leave it zipped up. until now I've never heard of anyone unzipping it, it really doesn't make much sense.
