I've been shopping for a new car for a few months now and I'm not closer to making a decision now than I was when I started. Recently I narrowed my search down to three cars: Mustang GT, BMW 325i, or Subaru STI. I've been thinking long and hard about this and I've nearly elimanated the STI, reguardless of it being the fastest, simply because 5 years from now after I've finished grad school I'm not going to want to pull up to a job interview in a car with a 3 foot wing on the back. The AWD is nice, the interior is great, sound system is good, handling is awesome, it's got more than enough power to make a happy DD, it just looks to immature for me to be driving 5-6 years from now.
Then we come to the BMW. It looks great, has 4 doors, lots of luxory, quite a bit lacking on the power/fun to drive factor. This would be the winner if it wasn't for the cost of repairs. When the warrenty runs out on that car I'll have to decide between getting screwed by repairs or just ponying up for a new BMW every 5 years (not going to happen). So it's basically elimanated.
This brings me to the Mustang. I know these are 3 very different cars but I've looked at just about everything on the market right now and these are the three that I've liked the most. The Mustang has nice power, fun to drive, leaps and bounds above the older style Mustangs in fit and finish, the sound system is amazing and it has a lot of really awesome features not found in a lot of other cars. It gets comperable gas mileage too, plus the fact it runs on regular instead of premium. The downside is it's a RWD V8 and a manual transmission (I refuse to own an auto Mustang). So when winter rolls around, do I want to be in another 300+ tq rear wheel drive? It's not as big an issue now as it was before. I moved from the country into the city so the roads get cleared a lot quicker.
Enough of my rambling. Here's my question:
For those of you who bought new Mustang GT's how have you liked them so far? Do you have any major complaints? What's bugging you about the car and do you have any regrets about buying it?
