1. Small groups are used in the field to simplify the task of a huge project. Take into consideration a fairly large fire. 2. Skills needed in this profession are good communications skills, training and understanding of structure and chain of command within the department. All of these are necessary for everyone to work together and be productive on the scene. The ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions as situations change are a plus as well.
