Just a quick one for some of you out there. I have been working on rewiring my car for the past 2 weeks and can't figure out where one wire goes. It's basically the voltage regulator. I have what looks like a grounded wire going through a resistor that was attached to the regulator. Anyone know which wire this attaches to I, A, S, or F? (I forgot to mark this one for some reason )

Thanks

What color is the wire?

You're not by chance talking about the radio suppression wire are you?

In the old cabling, the color was yellow with a green stripe (if I remember right, I am at work). This basically went directly from the voltage regulator to the chasis, with what looks like a resistor casing in between (the tube I have shown in text).

There's a yellow wire that goes to the "A" With a pigtail coming off going to the radio condensor. This wire traces back to the solenoid and then goes into the dash through a 7 pin plug connector.

There's a green w/red stripe going to the "S" and there's a white wire going to the "F"

Voltage Reg Pic

Here is what I'm talking about The only wire going from the regulator back through to the under dash area is the alternator excitor. I still don't have a clue on what attaches to that "pig tail" just above the regulator.. Thanks for all the replies...

The picture is quite small, but I'll tell yo what I think I see.

Frist of all, are the wires to the regulator wired direct on not on a female plug/clip?

What I think I see is the radio condensor/suppression pigtail. There is a decent picture of it in the NPD catalog on page 18. (their's are suare,, the original is round) If that is what it is, there is/was a female connector coming out of the regulator connector from the "A" wire.

The wires are currently on without a clip until I ensure the wiring is correct. After that I will have to manufacture a clip from the old one (the fasteners will fit but they will not stay in the clip, so I'll have to secure them inside with a good glue, probably gorilla glue but I'll have to test the temp range on that one). Thanks for the info, Taking a look at the wirign diagram in my chilton it looks about the same as the information I have received from you. I wanted to make sure cause wiring harness's aren't cheap. I'll have to post some pics of my old wiring harness on here to show the damage....

I've been using the EZ2Wire wiring harness and the largest problems I've been having are connector problems. They come with GM type connectors. So i've been having to use my old ford connectors.
