quick simple question

i got a mech vacuum gauge, where do i need to stick the t-fitting at? just any vacuum line? do i need to get it close to the engine or just anywhere?

It doesn't make a difference where you connect it. As long as there's vac there it's all the same.

ahh isnt there ported and non ported vacuum?
on the 88, i used a capped off fitting on the vacuum tree.
