when getting a new intake mani, can i use any intake elbow, or must i use one that is of the same brand as the intake?

AFAIK, if it fits air-tight, you are good to go.

Are you coverting to Fox? (like say .... a '93 Cobra) If so, you will need to change a couple of things. But yeah, other than a "routing issue" .... it doesn't matter what brand you use, as long as it fits.

ok. i plan on using the tfs street intake and a professional products elbow, just to save some cash.

nother quick ?, when i get a new intake, i know i will have to get a new strut bar. is it safe to drive w/o one for a little?

You should be just fine driving without the strut tower brace for a while. I know many people who just leave them off and have no trouble.

mines been off for a few months. im going to get on eventually but im spending money on other things first.

Agreed with Kevin - many folks never put the STB back on. Some folks report feeling a difference and some dont (mods play into that).

If you have doubts, some SFC's should make up the difference.
