Anyone race a C6 Z06 yet?

I did Friday night at the 1/4mile track and I managed to beat him.......................by and inch

I actually beat him by 0.059 but the owner must have just gotten the car, or just doesn't know how to drive. He could not break into 12s with a 120MPH trap speed
But man does it catch up quick

It was the loudest stock car I've ever heard, the stock exhaust is LOUD!

That corvette looks like a $200,000 car. What a deal. Im waiting impatiently on a magazine comparison between the Z06 and the Porsche 997 Turbo.

What wait?

"1. Ferrari F430 - the best sportcar in the world and the most charismatic

2. Porsche 997 TT - the supreme supercar when conditions underfoot get tricky

3. Corvette Z06 - the best corvette ever and a performance-car bargain for the ages"

the funny part is that the F430 is the "Best Sportcar" and it didn't lead anything on the track

There is a used one for sale close to me and I must say that I dont think it would be that safe of a car on the street. The reason is, it is so low to the ground it will bottom out over the slightest bump or dip in the road. The bottom of the one here is a scraped and chiped because of this. I dont race on the street but I like to get up on my car every once and awhile and with this car its a death sentence. You hit one dip in the road at over prolly 90-100+ mph it could be over. At least with our cars or the older Z06s or new regular C5s they sit a little higher than this and are safer.

its probably safe to say owners of that type of car dont have streetracing in mind, and probably wont be transversing any insane parking lot entrances/exits in it.

Same thing with the VW R32. There's a vacuum valve in the rear muffler. When you accelerate hard enough and the engine builds up enough vacuum the valve opens and "unmuffles" the exhaust. Simply bypass this and sweet sounds 24/7

it must work the other way around. it must have vacumm at low load and then when you go full throttle the LOSS of vacumm causes the valve to open and un\muffles the exhaust.. you don't have much vacumm at WOT or high rpm's/ load

A friend of mine was intrested in one, dont know if he ever would have bought one, but when he saw how low it sat it was a complete turn off to him. The thing is though other than old guys that buy a car like that, the few younger guys dont buy it to go 45 mph or take it to the track all the time. They buy them yes because of the look but to have a little fun with them. Not exactly street racing but a quick burst of speed on the highway or semi flat back road.

My friend has a 03 Cobra thats almost in the 10s Im talkin low low 11s. We'll go out on a certin back road, has a few dips nothin much, and he'll do a 40-130/135 romp. What im sayin is if hed do that in the new Z06 on that road it could easly bottom out.

I semi-ran against one from about 20 mph in 1st gear, OMG did that guy put me to shame. I floored it and got about 5-feet away from him b4 I hear this monstrous howl scream by my car like I was parked. And he had the audacity to complement me on my car at the next light.

Zo6 won't bottom out inless you are a hick who lives on back country hick roads with more gravel than asphalt - which if the case...why the hell would you even WANT a C6 Zo6 anyway?? Go buy a pickup or other such large utility vehicle. Plus, those cars are sprung pretty hard, and are damn aerodynamic enough not to just be bottoming out all the time. Scraping a bumper or mufflers is alot different than bottoming out.

and there's two different types of bottoming out, one is the shocks and the other is when your oilpan scrapes off
