I have a 2003 mustang gt that i bought that was in a wreck. The front end needs to be rebuilt i think. What should I get if i want to do a full race suspension?
Call Maximum Motorsports. They sell different "grip boxes" that have everything you'd need to build a race suspension. What kind of racing are you looking to do? Drag, autocross, open track?
MM makes awesome stuff. If you are into left and right turns and money is no object check out Griggs Racing or Agent 47 Racing, both make some baller SLA front suspensions. I went with MM because the employees were cool when I met them, they are close to me so I can pick stuff up, and the corner weighted my car for free.
I am running UPR supension on my car. It is a daily driver. I have drove it from Russellville, Ar to Fishkill, NY and back (1,300+ miles one way) and back. Then went from Russellville, Ar to Plymouth, MA (1,500+ miles one way) and back. Plus while I was up there working, I put atleast 500+ miles on it, and then when I am back home, it get's raced on Drag Radials and Slicks with a 150 shot. Needless to say, I beat the piss out of it. The UPR suspension has gave me 0 issues.
Dont get me wrong, Maximum Motorsports suspension is nice. Maximum Motorsports is also very pricy, and is built more around road racing than anything. The main reason people go to tubular front ends, is for weight savings. With the added bracing the MM K member has, it is not a whole lot lighter than the stock K member.
I am sitting here as we speak looking at a UPR K member that is going in my car very soon. I do visual weld inspections for a living. There is no way in hell that I would not trust this K member.
Like I said in my first post. If you planned on doing road racing or anything of that nature, the only suspension I would ever run is Maximum Motorsports. If you were wanting to do drag racing, the only suspension I would run is UPR. I am not dogging on Maximum Motorsports at all, I am just saying that the MM stuff is more built torwards a different purpose than what the OP is looking for.
