Thanks I think I am going to get a Steeroid rack from Speed Direct. SpeedDirect.com - R&P 64-66 Mustang Power - No Column For the money it appears to be a decent choice. I most likely will retain the existing steering column and cut it as needed, maybe later I can change over to tilt.
Their racks have a good turn ration and I can use the power steering pump on my car, hope it works! When I got the car it was not rolling, still isn't but it will.
I am going to call "Wurth it Designs" tomorrow before I make the final decision. Ford Rack and Pinion Conversions, Galaxies, Fords, Mustangs, Custom Steering
I am going to change out the brakes to disc and change the suspension to a coil over as well. Been reading tons of threads all over the place and it pays to do your homework.
There really is too much to chose from out there.
sparx
coil overs are great, but just ask yourself one question...how often will you really change ride height? I opted not to get them on my MII kit simply because once I get my desired height, thats it, i wont be changing it, so it reduces the cost quite a bit
I did much reading on this issue and even considered going the do it myself route of adapting one to my 69(Electro-Mech Designer here). I had already purchased the coil overs from TCP. I knew I wanted a quality system and no BS. So finally decided on the TCP manual R&P. Pricey YES! But man what a quality part! I talked to many folks about the wheel resistance, it basically came down to the weight of the 351W and the tire width on the front. Too much tire and too much weight would have forced me into a power assist R&P..
Good luck.
