Would like to install an originanal 1968 radio w/cassette player. Where would be a good place to find one?

Um, no cassettes in 1968, only AM/8-track that year. Ford had some AM/FM/Cassette radios in the mid 70's that will fit the bezel.

To find the radio, best place would be a swap meet, Auto Sterio repair shop, or e-bay.

I'd have to agree. my 68 has the AM/ 8 tack option. You basically have 3 choices, 1. AM/8 track 2. AM/FM 3. AM

Assuming this isn't a console car, I'd trim the back of the bezel and install a AM/FM/CDRW/MP3 head unit. The mod is free and the head should be about $120.

Add a pair of 10" subs in sealed boxes, and a small amp, and a pair of 6X9s in the package tray, not to mention a dual speaker setup in front, and volia! That's what I'm doing, but since I have a '66, the radio isn't going in the dash!

If you don’t have vents you could do something similar to what I did. You still have the appearance of a stock radio.

You know, I have never thought to use that space, but its a good size and you could hack up a repop piece for next to nothing. I have my amp and eq mounted in the glove box at this time.
