Real control arms on clearance anyone run them?

Hey i found these on clearance at summitracing for 99.00 and was wondering if anyone is using them i ordered them cause all my bushings are rotted out

Yea i have the stock ones still and its easier to upgrade to these and buy axle housing bushings i pretty much got fed up with my fox shaking today figured out most of it was my inner tierod i changed that then inspected the rear and the stock bushings were rotted but it is 17 years old even if it is low miles

I put those lowers on in place of my SSM's, but it wheel hopped like crazy and tires spun super easy, so I just took um off and put the SSM's back on

do you think it was cause you didnt have the uppers?

dont think so, SSM with stock uppers=no hop
those with stock uppers= hop like a bunny
but my buddy has the exact same ones and works perfectly fine I'll sell um for 65 shipped if anyone wants them

Just use quad shocks. That's what they are there for

you mentioned that in another thread, been looking for um on CL, but havent seen um yet. wanna get them cause I still get some hop occationally

A while ago they used to be relatively cheap from Ford. I checked a couple weeks ago and now they are $130 for a pair!!

saw a set for 20 bucks but they're in tucson, like an 2 hours away.

Ok i still have the quad shocks and ordered the control arms on friday. I will update when they shw up and i install them im also going from 3.08 to 3.73 gears at the same time since the rear end will be out

Tanus, you have PM and these have to be better than stock 20 year old arms and bushings.

this are also the same ones that other places sale for 139.00+. so i figure like others said they got to be better then stock stuff with 20 years old bushings.

You get what you pay for....I wouldn't trust them with a 10.5 tire launch.IMO
I remember horror stories about these when I was younger.

thats cool it comes with the housing bushings, I need to get those

I disagree, Ive seen many different kinds of the basic tubular arms, they're all the same, IMO

I bought those from summit a while ago but never got around to installing them. I was toying with doing an IRS swap. Looking forward to seeing how your car responds to them.

They didnt come with axle housing bushings i bought them separate at the Zone


I feel they are plenty strong for my intended use hell my motor is stock with minor bolt ons right now
