I was wondering if anyone knows if they make a rear seat delete that folds down like the stock seats do to give you access to your trunk? also what kind of weight savings will this give me?

also if you have pics that would be great. also if I had to could I put a child seat back there? I know its a odd question but you never know when I have to take the expedition into the shop for some reason.

there's no way I would put a child seat back there at least not with the thin partical board that they use because it is for weight reduction and cannot support alot of weight. Now if you used like 3/4" plywood and retraced the kit onto it and reused the carpet on the new plywood if might work. Oh, you would also have to cut 2 notches where the seat belt clips come through the bottom of the seats. I still wouldn't do it though. Just doesn't seem safe to me.

If you have kids just leave the seats. Or is it strictly a racer?

its my daily driver. I also have a 03 expedition that my wife drives and anytime we go anywhere with the baby thats what we take, she rarely if ever rides in the cobra, in fact it has probably been at least 6 months since the last time I had her in there.

i haven't seen a RSD that folded down, but i bet someone out there has or is in the process of buidling one. seems like it would be too much of a pain in the a$$ to make that though.

You could always make your own. That is what I did. The back board attaches at the top with velcro has hinges at the bottom. Also, I hinged bottom piece so that you can store stuff under it. I have a nice flat carpeted surface to put stuff on now, still can fold down the back to put big stuff in, and since the bottom board now lifts up I have a bunch of new storage space.
