Since most, if not all, of Ford's current lineup has rebates I was wondering if anyone knew, had a good idea, when they might be available on the 2005 Mustang? Do you think there might some, even if small, when the 2005 launches or will it take a year, two, or longer?

Currently there is a $1000.00 rebate on the '05. Code FD7-1000. I'm getting this discount through Overseas Military Car Sales.

Rebate? Forget it, just pray they don't mark up the price. You will be doing VERY good to get one for MSRP.

If you pay MSRP for a new 2005 Stang you are a Big SUCKER. They will be mass produced to the number of 150,000+, it isn't a limited production car. By spring 05 you will be able to get one for $500 over invoice.

They're going to be like the hot new video games.....$50 for the hard core people that want them immediately....$37 for those who wait a few "weeks"..... and $20 when it's part of the "Platinum Series".

I've only bought 2 new cars in my life and I paid 600 under sticker for the SRT-4 and about 900 under sticker for the GTI. The GTI platform is like 5 years old, and the new model is almost here. Plus it was the end of 2003 so they were tryin to get rid of the 03's. The SRT-4 was an 04 but since it was the end of the month they took off the cost of the 700 dollar sunroof option. I coulda got 1000 off at another dealer but there's didn't have the Viper seats which was a necessity says my significant other. I refuse to pay a cent over sticker, but MSRP is a fair price. For you to say that anyone that pays MSRP is a sucker is asenine. ****, I was offered an even better deal on a PT Cruiser Turbo but chose the GTI because of the friendly customer service in the sales dept. Usually my goal is to settle on a price in between invoice and MSRP, but most sporty cars are much harder to get a deal on. They know who comes to buy these cars and with this new mustang, unless the dealer's lot is FULL of them, I wouldn't expect much under sticker unless you have A,X,Z plan. I plan on purchasing mine before the end of the year and I'll try to talk him down 1K but I'll still be perfectly satisfied if I get it at sticker!

Edit: Quoted the wrong guy.

For a limited edition or hard to get cars MSRP is fair, Mass produced cars like the V6 Mustang that will be coming off of rental fleets 9 months later MSRP is for suckers.

This is the current college graduate rebate for a 2004 Mustang:
MUSTANG--V6 (3.8 Liter)
P40/110A Deluxe Coupe 2D
Supplemental Customer Incentive, College Graduate Cash (Expires 1-3-05)
• Base, GT, Mach 1 -400.00
(N/A Cobra) (For Those Graduating from 5-1-02 to 1-3-05) (Incentive Combinations & Availability May Be Restricted by Regional or Fleet Rules & Other Factors -- See Dealer for Details)
The rebate expires January 3, 2005, which is the end of the winter semester. On January 4, 2005, they'll post a new rebate and simply change the graduation dates accordingly.

So basically, you'll get the discount if you're about to graduate or have graduated within the last 2.5 years.

I graduated from Georgia Tech [Go Jackets!] on 5-5-03, so I'll be eligible for the graduation rebate until Late 2006, unless Ford changes their policy. I plan on buying my '05 Mustang next summer when there are more rebates. And I sure as hell don't plan on paying MSRP like some people seem to think the car will cost.

The 2005 Mustang is just another car. Ford will treat it like just another car. The '04 Stang currently has a $2,500 rebate. I expect the same in summer '05.

There are no rebates that have been announced for the general consumer. The only rebates confirmed are military and educational. Letter Plans (X, A, D) excluded of course. Those plans are, of course, in effect.

A-Z plans and rebatese are separate things. You can buy on X plan and in addition get any applicable rebates.

I realize that, but not all rebates are available on all plans. Most people are confused about the letter plans and when I said that no rebates were available to the general consumer (aside from Military/College Grad) at this time, I didn't want people to think I was saying there were no letter plans available either.
