remember when a local call at the payphone cost a nickle?

I can remember it costing a dime

remember the really good parts counter guys that knew many of the parts you needed WITHOUT looking in the book?

Dude ,you aint kidding .Fred that worked the Ford parts counter not only knew the part number ,he also knew where the part was . I once went to get a headlight switch for my 69 fast back ,after Fred quit ,and the guy behind the counter asked me what it does

Still one of my favorite B-movies to date. We'll miss you Hot Rod.

Remember when the parts counter guy was like a parts wizard and had to flip through 10 inch thick phone book catalogs to find part numbers?

Oh man, do I miss those days. Searching up part numbers, looking through old school microfische slides. The most under-appreciated resource at a car dealership. I never thought they paid those guys enough.

Now a days, not only does the little snot behind the counter not have a clue which end of a piston rod is up, or what you're talking about, but I actually had one guy down right refuse to search for anything for me without a VIN number. I was ready to shove him aside and do it myself. Was just about at my wits end when the 50-year-old vet stepped out from behind the stock counter, told the kid to go count the stock and found my part for me in less than 30-seconds.

lol....nope....never. lol

....but then I live in Canada. I think a phone call cost us a quarter long before you guys stopped shoving nickels and dimes into the thing.

Instead of a sparkly cupcake, I prefer a donut.

“Likest thou jelly within thy doughnut?"

"Nay, but prithee, with sprinkles 'pon it instead," I said solemnly, "and frosting of white.”
