Does anyone have a write-up on how to R&R a fender?

Also has anyone shaved the radio antennae? I need to replace my fender before I paint the car so this would be the prime time to do it.

No write-up, but the fender is kinda easy but time-consuming:

1. Two bolts on the inside of the fender that attach it to the front bumper.

2. Two bolts behind the turn signal that attach it to the headlight panel.

3. Three or four screws that attach the splash guard to the fender. It's easier to just remove the splash guard entirely IMO.

4. Two bolts (the biggest PITA) attaching the fender to the chassis by the door. Depending on your 'Stang, one can be removed by opening the door and slipping a socket & some extensions on it. This can sometimes be done from outside the car, but you may have to do this from the inside by the hinges. The other bolt has to be undone from the inside of the fender near the charcoal canister. You may find it easier to completely remove the splash guard, or you can just push it aside.

5. Several plastic push-pins down by the side skirts. I used a pry bar to pop them out. Don't forget the ones on the bottom as well, they help hold on the splash guard. Pull off that corner of the side skirt, you'll need it off to remove the fender.

6. Two bolts under the side skirt & splash guard at the bottom of the fender.

7. Lastly, several bolts on the top of the fender under the hood.

The fender should now be completely free. What a PITA.

agreed this part sucks... i got about an 18 inch extension for my 1/4 inch drive... shoved it through the door opening, while sitting on the pass seat.

if you remove the skirt it just a few bolts up and around the lip of the fender. I would do this if your replacing the fender you need to put it on the new one anyway.
