I recently purchased a 2000 mustang gt conv. it came with the whole authentic saleen kit except the side scoops. so i called up saleen, inc and ordered the side scoops to complete the look. Now how hard is it to replace the side scoops. How are they mounted? do i just pull them off? i dont want to break anything. Anyone know?

the stock ones just pull off. the saleen ones bolt in from the inside of the car. you have to rip apart almost the whole interior of the car to put them in. i learned this the hard way.

So much BS in this thread...

Remove the back seat, remove the interior quarter trim panels, install side scoops, reinstall quarter trim, reinstall seat, and yer done. I have done it several times it is easy. Nopart of the convertible top needs to be disassembled, I can assure you of that having done this myself.

If anything, I bet it's EASIER to replace them on a Vert!

I thought it would be easier then that. I just got saleen scoops today in mail straight from Saleen and there is manual that came with it, but still taking the seats out is gonna be a pain.

OK, the body shop charged me enough to have taken the top apart, that and the prepping and painting and installation of the wing was about $1,300.00 Good info Kilgore!

my whole rear interior (even the light bar) had to be taken out for the sidescoop installation. took 5 hours, but turned out nice. it was much easier on a convertible since the guys who installed it could stand on the rear with unlimited headroom. i don't want to imagine how inconvenient it would be to squeeze yourself into a coupe to install the sidescoops
