Replacing steering wheel

I was curious to whether anyone would be able to tell me how i would be able to remove the factory airbag steering wheel and replace it with an aftermarket one like a momo or a grant without setting off any codes. The car is a 2000 GT

Thanks i appreciate it, is there a way though of preventing the airbag light from coming on if i replaced the steering wheel with a wheel that doesnt have an airbag?
