There are Evos running mid 11s but they have replaced their stock turbo, intercooler and engine internals. I don't know if I wanna get that far into modding my car. It is my daily driver and I want to keep it smooth and trouble free. A few of those highly modded Evos have suffered major issues (blown head gaskets, broken transfer cases, etc)
So, for now... I'll just go with what I've got and try to improve my skills to drop a couple more tenths. I ET was all over the place last night with 2 runs in the high 13s (both bad mishifts on 3rd), 2 mid 13s(one was a slight mishift, the other I bogged badly at launch) and then my best run of the night, which was against the Cobra. It was a very close race, with only .3 seconds and less than 1 mph separating us in the end.

Good job man.......those are awesome times....what work do you have done to your evo? For me I didn't do as well as I had hoped I feel my times are getting worse I hit a 14.14 my first time at the track but since then I have been running 14.3's and higher.....and I added a Diablo sport chip which doesn't seem to do anything...Is it possible the chip is tuned improperly and is screwing up my times?....I can't seem to get a good launch and not kick out the rear end in second gear.......anyways I was the guy that pulled up behind you in the black 99 GT at the entrance gate....we have not really met although I have seen you at some of the BM meets....I am Steve by the way....How did the rest of you guys do Tyler? Brian? Cavallo?

Nice runs guys !! Pleasure to finally meet some of you and your Bad Azz rides !

I ran OK for a fat Vert with a Auto.

Best run for me was 14.80 @ 94.48 MPH

My only kill was a z28 auto, I beat her with reaction time .067 to her .260
A kill on HOLE shot, could not believe it.

Track was busy, I only got 4 runs in.

Time to buy a helmut !!

It's always possible that adding something new can slow you down. That's why it's important to dyno tune the car with your new mods when possible. The chip may also be defective or have a wrong map flashed in there...it happened to me.
Mods for the Evo - full turbo back exhaust, cams, cam gears, Vishnu engine management.

man, chips don't do crap for our mustangs man... the only performance gains would be from adding a 160 thermo that comes w/ the chips... pretty much, the chip other than that is useless from what I've seen... but that was on the 5.0L stangs...

LOL, don't let him get to ya man...

-btw to steve... I ran a 14.209@97.00 mph w/ a 2.05 60' (YEAH, NEW PERSONAL BEST! ) and also later ran at 97.83mph... I was stoked! w/ a good launch, I'll hit the 13s no problem... I launched like crap today... even though my times don't show it... I've NEVER bogged that badly ever! I might need some slicks after last night...

-but I do need a helmet soon

Thanks, Jason.

Was a lot of fun, I only got in two runs because I showed up so late but my first time out at the track was pretty exciting.

Bogged off the line, ran a reasonable 14.4 @ 99 then my second run, experimented unsuccessfuly by launching from a higher RPM to just spin out of the hole and net a 15.0 @ 99 (wierd I trapped that speed again).

Look forward to heading out there again, might be as early as next week.

Im confused.... a .500 is a perfect light (unless youre on a pro tree @ .400) anything quicker is a redlight.
So does that mean you cut a .567 to her .760????

A 160 can actually hurt performance, since the computer is still trying to run in "warm up" mode.... several factors including the ISC settings, engine timing, fuel enrichment, etc... are all affected and could run at less than optimum settings. A 160 would be fine on a carb'd motor though. Check out tweecer.com sometime for more info on the inner workings of the ford programming.

This is one reason why the mph at the traps is used to calculate the hp output of the vehicle. The et is made in the first 60ft (mostly) and is more affected by suspention, track prep, tires, etc...

At some tracks .000 is a perfect light

The reaction times would equate to the times that you suggested

don, yes, I know... that is a valid argument, but only in the winter... in the summer months... like it is now... the computer doesn't have a chance to compensate for it... so, it really doesn't hurt your car AT ALL this time of year... but w/ a chip, you alter the computers mindset (so to speak) and tell it you have a 160... that's all I was saying about the chips....

-as for the 160 thermo in summer... that's fine to do, just never in the winter... I run a 3210 in winter, and a 160 in summer... that should keep it penty warm in winter (my thinking at least...)

-btw Tyler, just try not to cut off that chick w/ the silver cobra again first time out there and already an enemy

-oh, and btw, btw, PR is now a .000 light... the light itself is still a .500 light, but for all intensive purposes, on slips, talking, all that stuff... it's a .000 light now... so, if you break out, a - is bad, a .000 is perfect... I have no idea why they did that... I liked it last year... nice and simple

Good job getting into the 12's,I know it takes a lots more to do that than a car with a larger displacement motor.

Hope to be back out there next week racing LS1.

Take care

the light is still technically a .500 light... but for all intensive purposes, on all the slips, and while talking, it's a .000 light... so, w/ a .067 is really a .567 by the old system they had last year... they've changed it since last season... don't ask me why....
