That money grubbing douche.

Just heard today (and there's a story about it on ESPN) that WVU's head coach, Rich Rodriguez, is leaving WVU to go coach at Michigan.

Last year he was in talks with Alabama and WVU made MAJOR concessions in his contract to get him to stay, and now he pulls this.

I'm saying, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, dickhead.

It especially pisses me off that he decides to make this announcement 2 weeks before our bowl game, and he even still wants to coach for it! Now we're definitely gonna lose, nobody is gonna feel psyched up and motivated for this game.

Meh Michigan is a better job, what did you want him to do. Better school, better tradition, potential for better rectruits, 110K seat stadium. Probably more $$ and if he can bring them back he will be there for as long as he wants the job.

But the bad thing for WVU is you are probably going to lose the Rivals #1 recruit now too.

He has officially put UM on his short list of schools he is considering.

But think on the bright side, you can use this as an excuse when you get beat by OU, where before you wouldnt have had one.

so, if you had a better job offer somewhere besides where you are working now... you wouldn't take it?

Its buisiness. I think its a better hire that Les Miles IMO.

Well, I could care less that he's leaving, it's the fact that he's doing it two weeks before the damn bowl. I mean, why not wait and announce it afterwards?

Because that creates problems for U of M and WVU. This way, both schools know where he's going to coach. U of M can now get started on recruiting with the new coach in place and WVU has 2 more weeks to get their new coach in place and get his recruiting started. Would you rather wait until after January and a few more coaches are already locked up, thereby reducing the number of quality candidates you have for WVU?

I'd like to say WVU shouldn't let him coach in the Bowl Game but the money BCS winners are granted is too much to debate over whether or not to let him coach.

I dont think he should coach either and I dont think he is going to. Imo once you leave a job you are gone for good, not well I will coach 1 more game.

He is already recruiting for UM for goodness sakes.

...and I love for people to think that.

Fear the Hat.

No offense but Michigan will give him WAY more opportunities at being successful than West Virginia. At UM he can be competitive nationally every year whereas at WVU maybe every 5-6.

The money is an appearance fee, a reward for making it to the game, so it doesn't matter if you win or loose, the size of the check will be the same.

My bad, thanks for the clarification.

I agree with those that said it is a better career move to go to UM.
