Trying to put a 3.55 ring and pinion from an Explorer in a 97GT, can't seem to get a good pattern, does ford have a chart to show how to change the shims.

Any suggestions, or do I just need to get a new set of gears.

the pattern should beon the gears if they where on another vehicle.....you may need a shim kit to get the gears in the set pattern they have. but you dont want your backlash too tight or you will have a pattern more towards the inside...keep it between .010-.012

as far as the shims go there is no exact way you just add or take away till you have proper backlash
