Anybody else notice that the Roush intake on eBay went for $1750? That's amazing, I would never have expected it to go for that kinda coin.

Scared... Hmmm. Ya know I actually am kinda scared to get it dyno'd and see the truth. But that's not why I haven't done it yet.

Excuses:
1) Emergency work trip to S. America for a month
2) Corded front tire (I think I'm the only guy arouynd here that goes through front tires twice as fast as rears)
3) Hurricanes x2
4) Three page list of "Honey-do's"
5) Lazy

Soon guys, I promise. I'm ordering new tires tonight. Maybe I'll get the dyno done next week.

Is it rare or something? It looks nice, but why the hell would you pay $1750 for an intake? Am I missing something?

It is rare and hard to come buy in a complete kit. Hell they used to come with there own hood if you wanted the whole package.

In addition to being rare, performance wise, they are some of the best, if not the best intake on the market. If I remember correctly the whole kit come with the intake, specific injectors and fuel rails, and a the new hood that is needed.

All told the complete kit included:

3 Piece Intake, Lower, Mid and Upper
Gasket set, (intake, EGR, Throttle Body, IAB)
J4J1 EEC-IV Computer
MAF Extension Harness
IAB adapter plate
65mm Throttle Body
24lb Fuel Injectors
Fuel Rails
Passenger side Valve Cover
New Heater Pipe
Underdrive Crank Pulley
Serpentine Belt
Approximately 4ft of hose cut to different lengths (sizes per manual)
Assorted vacuum fittings
MAF to Throttle Body Hose and clamps
Air box and filter
Fuel Line disconnection tools
Installation Manual
Cowl Hood

Most of the actual kits to come from Roush came from their parts division, not on the Stage 3 cars. The majority of those kits were incomplete though. The problem was the $3000 price tag. Once Roush stopped making them and just started offloading the kits for cheap, they really started selling. But the problem was that some pieces went quick and they never made new ones. The hood is a prime example. Once the initial few hoods sold, they never made any more and just sold the kits incomplete.

Most kits sold just as mine did; complete minus the hood and crank pulley. I instead bought a 95 R hood (already had pullies) as it would clear the intake. I had plans to open up the rear of the cowl so the filter will get plenty of fresh, cool air off the high pressure area off the windshield, but I've been toying with the idea of molding in a shaker scoop as you really can't ask for better air filter placement. But I'll probably just cut out the cowl for aero considerations (I'm wanting to do a Bonneville run with this car once the motor is done).

Ok, that makes a lot more sense. I didn't realize all that other stuff came with it.
