hey all, been a long time since i last posted, seems i even missed a re-design. i was almost drawn to the dark side and traded in my 01 GT for some euro-crap. i came to my senses and i'm back to my roots, and now i'm trying to decide between the Stage 1 Roush or the 3V S281.

just want to hear others' opinions and preferences, what they like and/or dislike about each car, and what i should keep in mind while shopping.

right now i'm leaning towards a stage 1 Roush with most of the optional accessories, and the sticker price is about $41k

thanks guys and i look forward to your input!

If I had to choose between the Roush Stage 1 and the Saleen S281 I'd go with the Saleen. The Saleen will handle a lot better than the Stage 1. The Saleen S281 is more comparable to the Roush Stage 2.

You get a lot more with the Saleen. The interior is a lot nicer, 14" front brakes are standard and variable exhaust (sounds awesome).

The stage 1 is just an appearance package. The stage 2 includes a handling package. I think it still uses the stock brakes also. Definately go with the Saleen. Better build and looks alot better. Theyre selling a supercharged one for almost $70,000 here, I rather buy a Z06 corvette for much cheaper. I saw a stage 1 rousch convertible for $50,000 at my dealer. You could see the tape they used to secure the lower side moulding on the drivers side. Really tacky looking for $50,000 dollars.

Prefer the looks of the Roush over Saleen. Then again i would rather get a GT and mod the way I want it for ALOT less. Just my .02. No negs to either car, I personally can't afford the price with 4 kids and a wife. BUT if I sold them off hmmm.

The new saleen's look so nice! I would rather have an authentic S281. With the roush it would be cheaper to just put the bodykit on there. Either way you would be getting a very bad ass mustang, good luck with the search!

I have to agree / but I suppose the saleen rear fascia is a matter of taste / really bad taste in this case ...

once, someone I was with thought it was a corvette until we were right on top of it / and that's not ever a good thing.
