run in with an E55 AMG tongiht...

on a closed course with proper supervision, about a 40mph roll i cut into the left lane, hit 2nd, WOT, slammed 3rd (the fastest i ahve ever shifted thsi thign so far), got a nice second of tire squeel, revved out 3rd to about 6300RPM, hti 4th and got a little chirp out of the rears, and went form 1 car behind, to 1 car ahead by the top of 4th

i honestly rarely race on teh street (usually traffic whenever im out, plus i never seem to run into cars worth racing!) but occasionally i do

but of course, this is on a street that was closed off for the night strictly prepped and observed for drag racing and sponsored by local law enforcement.....

I assume it's not as strong from a roll because the auto? I raced my neighbor's E55 at the track. He ran a 12.2 versus my 12.7, so I guess you can say I lost. BTW, his car is bone stock down to the tires.

i dunno. hell maybe he wasted totally WOT, but it sounded like he was screaming.

who knwos though, coudl be one fo the slwoer E55's. 2nd and 3rd in my stang pull really hard though.

6300 rpm under boost, watch out... lol.



Sounds like a good run though. My buddy just got an LT1 Z28 so we'll see if this whole "drivers race" thing is true or not maybe.

haha yeah i was gettin excited and almsto forgot to shift! luckily i didnt sty up there too long though sine it was 2nd gear. with teh 30# injectors it starts to lean out at 5k and by 6300 im at abotu 13.5:1 AFR

vortech with FMIC and AFM PP, TB, plenum, 373's, tri ax, prochamber and magnaflow catback

liek i said, hit 9psi on that run

Maybe he lost traction?

Although he weighs more than you (3768), he has more HP and TQ than you and "should" have won.

Good job anyway.

yeah those things have 469HP and 520HP with a S/C that is running 11.5psi of boost, with just a computer flash the HP is bumped up to 500HP and 5XXTQ. I forget the numbers since i havent worked for the company in a few years, so they can axtually be an 11 sec car easily. but the new one is out the E63 AMG 510HP 465TQ all motor

But look for the CL65 AMG or SL65 AMG they both have the same motor V12 Bi-Turbo 604HP and 734TQ believe those cars get up and move

Good thing you guys didn't go from a stop.....he would have murdered you!

BTW.....last time I checked, you didn't need to get into 4th gear in a quarter of a mile with 3.73 gears.

Just busting your balls.

i coudl be wrong (dont lok at the speedo at those speeds too much) but i think the top of 4th is like, 110-120?

i think laser red lost because it was at the track from a stop. laser, you prolly lose alot of traction. on the street from a roll driver error is taken away and the power of the cars plays a better role. also there isnt as much traction issues from a roll

just my guess.

I can tell you right now, that your engine isnt going to last long if you keep doing that.
A/F NEEDS to be @ 11.5-1 and a MAX of 12.0-1 ....any higher than that (depending on timing) and your angine is literly a time bomb.
Throw in some 42# injectors and get it retuned! Otherwise I can assure you that instead of $200 injectors, you will be buying a $4000 forged shortblock LOL.

hotmustang - oh i know that very well. normally (except 1st gear) i shift at 5000RPM or earlier.

im probly gonan go with 60's and an SCT 2400 MAF with a new tune - leave room for the unknown

Maybe I should have worded that differently. "If you're needing to get into 4th in a quarter of a mile, you need a taller tire out back."

Those cars may look like overweight pigs but can launch like HELL. He was pulling off 1.7-1.8 60's. That massive low end tq gets it off the line so quickly. I had my slipping automatic then and I was launching on idle w/street tires. In that race, he trapped 110 and I did 112.

From a roll, yeah I'd put my $$$ on my car, especially now that I have a 6-speed.
