Anyone know where I can buy the black saleen tail light covers for the 94-95 tailights? My paint looks horrible so I want to cover them up. Has anyone ever tried to paint theirs black to give them that look?? How did it turn out? Thanks in advance.....

Paint them... go to wally world and pick up a can of black krylon fusion, pull the tail lights out, tape off the lenses, make sure the surface is clean, sand it if you want, then spray away... Very simple and will only take a few hours if you've never done it before.

I've been debating whether to just try and paint them or not. I can see that by your pics that it comes out looking good!! I really like the look of the 03 cobra's on your car. I was hard pressed to choose between those wheels and the bullits but got a deal on the bullits I couldnt pass up. Nice car man and thanks for the help!

FYI: I think the Saleens have a sharper look to them, and they are purchased as tail light assemblies (I believe) and you can purchase them from the Saleen website.

Yes the Saleen lights do look great, but for $5 you cant beat painting your stockers

Oh I agree, I'm sure those Saleen tail lights have to be north of the 150 mark at least

I've looked at the Saleen covers recently, but haven't decided. There available as a pair on Saleen's website for $69.99.

The Saleen covers look way better in my opinion. Painting the existing covers just looks like covers that have been painted. The Saleens give the rear end a completely different look.

Yeah I agree, I have the Saleen Covers and they kinda shrink the taillights down, they look really nice, and theyre not too expensive. Heres a pic of my car with em on http://www.cardomain.com/id/mustangmatt685, and I'd reccommend getting them from saleen so you know that they will fit and look right

In my opinion the stock covers painted black look better. I have a teal car, I wonder how it would look? Mustangmatt865 I checked out your Car Domain. Where did you get the carbon fiber dash? I thought about getting something like that but worried about it being ricey. I like yours a lot.

Well I'm assuming since he came in here asking about where to get the covers, he too thinks they look better so why ask him to paint the stockers.

Well I have been trying to decide which way to go about doing it because all I know is my stock ones look like sh**. I had also thought about just buying a set of 96 tailights in black and putting them on like that. Anyone done that? I know it needs the 96 wiring harness but I like those tail lights a lot more than ours. I'm thinking I may just paint them until I can afford a set of those. But those covers on Mustantmatt685's car look sweet!

sorry but a little OT, just a quick question, what suspension set-up do you have. my first mustang also had the springs outside the shock but never knew why. it was frucking low tho. i just thought they had messed with it and that's what they came up with. i was 17 and knew nothing, now i'm 21 and still know nothing about the suspension, but am learning everyday.

Back on topic.
DON'T SPEND THE EXTRA CASH ON THE SALEEN LIGHTS, NOT WORTH IT. I haven't read all the posts but I painted mine flat black. You have to sand them if you go flat. I just taped the lenses and cut the shape of the lense to the tape. took me a couple of hours because I also painted the space around the license plate(i took it off) trust me, it looks awesome, i just wish i had a digital camera to show it off. if any of you can show me how to post a pic of my car from my cell camera, i'll post it.

please don't do that, you will forever ruin the 5.0
well, not that bad but i, as like a lot of 5.0ers, would much rather have our style taillights. everyone will know(whoever does know) you have the classic 5.0 under the hood

Personally, I think it is worth a measly $69.99 in order to get the actual authentic look that you want. I've had factory black tail lights on my teal car and it looked okay i guess but more than anything, to me at least, it looked kinda ricerish. you know, how the ricers have 3 different color body parts on their cars. If I were to do it, i'd do it right and get the Saleen covers. But thats just me. I guess if you can only afford $5 then go the cheap route.

I would go with the saleen light covers. They totally change the look and shape of your tail lights. I have had em for about 2 years and they have been great. They are getting a little faded though so i might take them off to paint them.

94SC50, Which set did you decide to stick with? They both look sick..... and your paint is unbelievable.
