I finally gave up on rebuilding my '92 LX that got rearended last December. It just needs too much bodywork, panel replacing, etc., to make it worth doing on what is in essence a base four-cylinder car. So as my new project, the poor LX is being replaced with this. 1986 Comp Prep Mustang SVO 1C, 1 of 87 made. Obviously it needs some things and the paint is FUBAR, but the body is straight and rust-free and my poor LX will be donating many parts to the cause. Paid the princely sum of $650. I'm hoping to tear up the streets with it this summer.

Shed a tear for the '92, it was a great car. With some luck it might become our racecar for CMC.

Sad news, but at least you've got a good replacement. If you were closer I'd be on your ass for some parts.

That’s crazy Brian that you found that rare of a car for that little. It’s sad to see that you could not get the 92 fixed, you had put so much time into it. The SVO needs some TLC but she looks like a winner to me.

Thats the problem with California; the deals are gone. Good find, although it looks a little rough. Worth restoring, though.

Fuel pump is shot, it's rusted to hell. Wiring is good though. Plan is to swap the tank and 255lph pump from my LX into the SVO tomorrow. I'll take some pics of the undercarriage of this car - it's damn near spotless!!

Here are some more pics:
