I was curious about the set up of the new Shaker 1000 sytem, is it similar to the Mach 1000 in my 02 GT? I have only seen pictures of half the trunk and it looks like the rear subs might only be on one side of the car instead of both sides like the Mach 1000, any info?

The subs are on the passanger side in the trunk and no amps across the top of the trunk opening, and boy does it sound good

I'm happy to hear that from someone who actually has it. It was the only option I ordered for my GT Deluxe and I was hesitant to get it at first because I'd never heard one. So, my dealer let me listen to a Mach 1000 system in an '04 and I was hooked. All I know is that it had *better* sound good for $1770!!

here's a couple pictures of the shacker 1000. It sounds good for a factory system and is very clean looking.

Yes, it's $1770 if you order the GT Deluxe, $1299 if ordering the GT Premium (cheaper since the 500 is already included with the Premium package).

Based on the reasearch TorchRed and I did... the rear speakers for both systems are the same. I'm thinking the only difference between the 1000 and 500 systems is the sub's and amps that power them.

If anyone knows differently, please let us know.

Well the biggest difference is that the 1000 system comes with a box with two 10" subs in it with a power output of 500 watts

And

the 500 system has two smaller subs that are mounted in the front doors and the power output is rated at 250 watts

If you ask me....I think the $1200 extra price tag is worth it....for that price you can buy and much better sounding aftermarket sub system.... I find the only real advantage of the 1000 system is that the sub is off to the side and fastened downed solid off to the side..but even that to me does not not make it worth the extra sticker price

P.s dont' consider buying the new GT....just do it

I know you will not be disapointed

PROMISE

But if your willing to wait, the new cobra should be out next year from what I hear...but it will not be anything like the older cobra's it willl make all the cobra's of past look like toy cars..its also going to be much more pricier of any others from past..its said to be made to compeat with the M3 market

Yes, we realize that difference. The part in question is Ford's claim that the 1000 system contains 9 'audiophile' speakers, whereas they don't say that term in the advertisement for the 500 system. I was hoping to see more for my $1200 than trunk subs and 2 amps

I don't think the subs you get in the 1000 are 10". I think they're 8", or 6". And the 'audiophile' speakers aren't audiophile speakers, I don't believe. I'm sure they are inexpensive paper cone (which can be good but these aren't going to be). And 1000 watts peak is probably about 25 maybe 50, RMS.

None of which means don't get it. It will be aw right for not having to go to the trouble and installation of an expensive, non-stock alternative. But Ford is, er, marking up their cost, a little.

I have the Shaker 1000 and believe me it is the best sounding factory system I have ever heard. Especially if you like bass in your music. I'm glad I got it. Yea it is pricey and you could build your own system for perhaps half that price. Shaker 1000 rocks

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE SHAKER 500 HAS, BUT MY SHAKER 1000 HAS 8" SUBS IN EACH FRONT DOOR PANEL, DUAL 8" SUBS IN THE TRUNK, FOUR(I BELIEVE) REAR DECK SPEAKERS, AND TWO SMALL TWEETERS INSET INTO THE DOME LIGHT ENCLOSURE, AT LEAST THATS ALL I COULD FIND. NO MATTER ANYWAY IT SOUNDS REALLY NICE. I HAVE A 3000 WATT AFTERMARKET SYSTEM IN MY TRUCK AND THE SHAKER 1000 IS NOT NEARLY AS LOUD, BUT THE SOUND QUALITY IS GREAT AND ITS LOUD ENOUGH TO DROWN OUT THE SOUND OF THE ROAD, EXHAUST, NAGGING WIFE, ETC...
