Im getting a 42" for the bedroom, i've been reading good reviews for the Sharp Aquos LCD's and I can get a customer return 42" thats brand new at circuit city with their firedog in-home service plan for $1095.00 out the door it's model #lc-42D62U which is a 1080p set. My living room TV is a 52" Samsung 120hz refresh rate LDC so this wont even compare I know but is it a good deal??

I bought a 46" sharp aquous LCD on black friday. I love it, the picture is awesome and its a great tv. I paid 999 for it, it is only 1080i but I saw no reason to go with 1080p considering barely any stations broadcast in 1080i. It will be a long long time before they all broadcoast in 1080p. Since it is 1080p that seems like a pretty good deal...

I'll either get a Sharp or an LG when I move out and can't whore my roommates' 50 LG plasma. Sounds like a good deal.

I've heard the best things about LG's. My buddy has a 37" LG 720p LCD here at school and it has probably the best picture I've seen from any flat screen TV in that price range. LG's also have the best refresh rate. My GF and her roommate have a smaller (21" maybe?) Sharp Aquos LCD, and theres no comparison between the LG and the Sharp. Plus the sound on the Sharp TV's has been a problem...on full volume unless your extremely quiet, you can't hear it well...and this is in a small dorm room not a large living room or theater room.

thats what I'm going to get next... PS3. I figure if I'm going to get a blu-ray player I might as well be able to play some video games as well.

+1 I was wondering, since they aren't making HD dvds, is Xbox going to switch over to Blu Ray as well?

I work in TV's and have for 5 years and here's just a little insight into the tv's your talking about.

The sharp aquos has a great pic. but does have MAJOR SOUND PROBLEM as said earlier. The volume can be turned up to 100 and two people can stand 5 feet away and have a conversation without raising their voices at all.

The responce time on the D62U is not so good either. It had problems keeping up with NCAA08 on PS3.

Also not to mention that Sharp is falling in line and doing what samsung did last year by getting Sony to make their parts for them this year. It worked out great for Samsung. They have came a long way in a lil over a years time.

I have a 42" Sony 3LCD that I got from sony for free its only 720P, 1080I capable and my PS3 looked amazing watching I am legeng on blu-ray as well.

If you want quality do one thing. Get a Samsung for the bedroom as well. You won't regret it.
ALSO THE NEW MODELS ARE COMING OUT.
Samsung's A500, 600, and 700's series look amazing
Prices are not going up so no need to worry about that.

I have the 1080P 42" Sharp Aquos. It's amazing, especially after you run a tuning DVD through it. Lots of debate about 720P vs. 1080P, but I didn't plan on buying another TV for a long time so I bought the best I do not regret it. I also run the PS3 through it, and its amazing.

In terms of sound... I don't know, I've always ran 5.1 surround through a receiver. I certainly didn't drop that much cake on a TV for the tiny speakers in it.

Thats what I did I could only fit a 32" thought but the picture (720p) looks amazing. And sense this model came with the pickers on the side and not behind the TV it sounds pretty good. I will get a surround sound system one day.

I just put the new A650 Samsung out on display at work yesterday.
For anyone who can pony up the dough its freakin hot!
50k:1 contrast ratio
4 HDMI
120Hz
Its lighter and slimer than last years model.
The tv literally hurt my eyes it was so bright but I guess that is what you get for standing 3 feet away staring at the picture on a 46" LCD.

Damn TVs. I want one so bad, but I just have a problem with something that costs as much as my mortgage payment and that doesn't pay for itself over time or save me money in some form or fashion.

I have the 37" Sharp Aquos. Definately no complaints! Picture brightness/quality is amazing for the price.

i also noticed that with my sharp aquos, the sound is not very loud at all if you just use the tv's speaker. Like 95whitevenom said you can turn it all the way up and your struggling to hear it. I run everything through my sony surround sound so it doesn't bother me, that gets loud enough lol! BTW i've had my sony receiver, cd player and speakers for 12 years now and it still works as good as it did the first day.
