A Shelby Expedition?!
WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK. SEMA is here and not one hint of a Shelby Mustang?
What are they thinking?
Go to all the trouble of a modern AC Cobra, then a modern Daytona Coupe (GR-1?), but no Mustang. What a waste!!!!!!!!!
Yes, as you can tell, I'm pissed. This is rediculous.
Yes, those two concepts are awesome cars and to build them is understandable, IF and ONLY if, there's a Shelby Mustang (there's no excuse for wasting time, money, and effort on the Expedition), but without a Mustang, Caroll Shelby and Ford shouldn't have even gotten back together.
Come on guys, get a clue.

I'm surprised too, considering Shelby is based out of Las Vegas and SEMA is in Las Vegas. You'd think they'd have something. Oh well, patience is a virtu and if they don't rush it, then it's all good. I'm sure we'll see it at the next major car convention/show (NAIAS?).

If there is to be a Shelby version of the new Mustang, they will keep it secret FOR AS LONG AS THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT, for blatantly obvious and sensible reasons. Think for a second or two, before you get all pissed off. The Expedition is just fluff and filler, you're way off the mark thinking that there's some sort of "priority shift". The Shelby Mustang project, I'm certain, is under tight wraps. They don't need to drag a showcar all over the country to build enthusiasm, the enthusiasm exists already. Sorry you can't get a sneak peek, but that's the way it goes. You aren't going to see the new Cobra at SEMA either. Those BASTARDS!! LOL!

RICKS, I think you NAILED it. There is no way in hell that a future SHELBY MUSTANG would make its debut at SEMA.

Can anyone one say 2006 Shelby/Boss 302 (5.0 cammer)! Or something along those lines anyway.

Why would a carmaker kill some of their sales by sneak peeking a car that won't be out for some time? If people were to see a Shelby right now, it would take away the excitement of the Mustang GT. From a marketing standpoint, it's good to wait to interest in the Mustang GT starts to die, and then pick up the interest of the Mustang brand again by bringing out a Cobra/Shelby/SVT/Mach/Bullitt/Boss whatever. It's common marketing and financial sense actually.

Not to mention the competition (GM,Dodge) will stumble over themselves to copy or try to better it. Better to keep them guessing.

All very true. Thanks for calming me down, guys.
I probably wouldn't be able to afford one anyway since I assume they'll be higher than a Cobra.

good points. another good reason may be to wait for the aftermarket companies to finish their kits, so they don't steal from the shelby

I read that shelby wants to build a suv expedition, because he is tired of seeing porsche turbo suv & m-class amg at the top of the fastsed suv's out there! so that's why he wants to do a shelby expedition! i'm sure he will still do the shelby mustang too!

Trying to make an Expedition go toe-to-toe with a Cayenne Turbo would be like trying to turn a sumo wrestler into a gymnast. I can't imagine that their motivation is to compete with the Germans, using the Expedition platform. Pointless....

Actually, the independant rear on the Expedition is a great handling starting point. It's too bad that the truck weighs so much. I think a better platform might be the Explorer.

Ford doesn't want to get it right. They are too lazy to build a Shelby Mustang. That's what I think. They are all lazy fhucks.

Considering they displayed it right next to the GT-R and the 5.0 cammer race car, I think they were looking for more than just souped up Mustangs. Remember, this is a SEMA show, not a Mustang show. Might as well soup up their most expensive truck and get people excited about that as well.

If you like that sort of thing, I think they did a good job. It just doesn't make any sense to me. But, either way, notice the similarities to the GT-R (same wheels, same exhaust pipes placed differently, same fender flares)
