hey guys i installed my autonatic shifter cable and now i have more problems. i can't start the car in park. i have to like shift it all the way to like 1st and then back up to like nuetral and start it, but when i do it automatically starts and goes into reverse. also when i start my car and put it in drive. it shifts really hard into drive. it feels like its going to snap something. but if i put it in drive any other time its ok, only when i first start it. please guys i need help.

The way i adjusted mine was i had a buddy under the car and loosen the cable, then i put the shifter in park, then he manually put the tranny in park. After it was aligned you just secure it and try it out. Its easier with two people. Hope this helps

hey, i think thats what im going to do. i tried to do that last time but the cable and linkage was hitting my x-pipe and woulnt allow it to go into park. no i moved the x-pipe and got in into park and i need to adjust it hopefully but i still don't understand why it shifts into reverse when i start it and also why it shifts so hard into drive after i start it and put it in drive. any ideas???

i like the way Mustang Yawie did his. you know you are apples for apples doing it that way (i dont have an automatic though, so i dont know the proper procedure, if there is one).

as for the hard shifting, that is why i was asking about the TV cable - the setting could be off (it would sorta be like - when the stuff was working properly - revving it up to say 2K rpm and then shifting).
