Which short shifter do you guys recommend between MGW, Pro 5.0, and Steeda Tri-Ax? Is there any real big difference between them, or just a preference on brand? Also, is it worth getting an aftermarket adjustable clutch cable? I read somewhere in the forums that the Factory Ford cable is fine if the cable needs replacement.

MGW. I haven't driven a bunch of different shifters, so I can't say what they shift like in comparison, but I love the feel of this shifter. Another plus is the very different handle design that is stronger, adjustable, and will NOT come loose like a normal 2 bolt shifter handle will. The best part is it's the same price.

I had an MGW when I had my T5 and it was awesome. It really comes down to personal preference but my other two choices were the Tri-Axe and the Pro 5.0. You really can't go wrong with any of those but MGW's quality was second to none and the shifts were tight and crisp. 3rd gear just required you to push the shifter forward and it dropped right into place. Too bad my T5 didn't hold up...

Way back when I put a Hurst Competition shifter on my T-5. This is the one with the cast aluminum base, hollow aluminum stick and stamped parts. It was a huge improvement in feel and accuracy over the OEM unit. After taking my car out of storage I picked up a Pro-5.0 and it is the same level of improvement over the old Hurst as the Hurst was over the OEM stick. I haven't driven any but these two but I am very happy with the Pro 5.0. FWIW.

I have a B&M i believe. I have only missed 3rd twice at the drag races. I love the shifter. Yes i have the Pro Ripper. Only issue i ever had with it is when i first installed it i did not lock tight hex screws and they cam loose.

Wow guys thank you so much. I was leaning towards the MGW but just wanted some opinions first, after these, i think the MGW would be an excellent choice.

I was just looking at pics of that short through shifter. Looks like a strog shifter. The B&M Pro Ripper boasts a 35% less through i see lots others are 30%.

Roland, where did you get the blue and red handles? Mine only came with the gold and I don't see anywhere to order the others?

Pro 5.0 with a Steeda Triax handle... I love the feel of it and I have had 0 problems with it. Haven't had first hand experience with the MGW, but I'll bet it's a damn good handle. Looks good, too.

yes I bought my MGW from thier site and it came with the orange handle....I found the red and blue handles on ebay from the same seller. I think I paid like $20 for the blue and I know I paid $1 for the red one
