Anyone got a pic of their cars with the magnetic antenna mounted? Any ideas? I hear the trunk is the place to go. It is a vert also. I was hoping not to have to see the thing. Anyone?

Sorry I don't have any pic's but i just installed one for somebody and put the antenna by the wipers. It really doesn't stand out because the cowl piece is black.

I don't know how big the antenna is, but I hid the GPS antenna for my carputer under the plastic piece on the right side of the window frame at the very bottom, right up against the dash so it "looks" up out the window. Maybe you could stick it there?

This is my receiver's size

And this is where I stuck it (under the plastic tower cover):

(not my car)

The book answer is the trunk lid on a vert. As long as you center it, it will take no time for you to think thats were it belongs. There are so many cars out there now with them, that you won't even notice it. I do like the idea of putting it under the A pillar cover, just not sure about reception there. A GPS antenna picks up from multiple sats, but radio doesn't. I had thought about just putting mine on the front of the dash. Intend to experiment soon to see how well it picks up there.

couple of pics of the antenna mounted on my cars.

on our Prelude.

on my stang.

FYI,the sirius and XM branded antennas are interchangeable between receivers.i use XM antennas because they are a little smaller and look better IMO.the newer sirius antennas are thin and round with a cheesy silver section, they stand out too much.the black antennas have a more factory look.

what receiver did you get?i got the stilleto 2 and i love it.100 hrs of internal memory(Howard Stern!) and i got a 4 gig microSD card to upload my music.

Not sure if it would effect the reception, but couldn't you paint the antenna to make it not stand out as much?

To answer the question though, I say the trunk lid for the 'vert.

I just throw mine on the dash board and the reception is fine...than I can take it out to move it to another car if I want. You can put it under the dash and up through a corner if you want the wires not visible. The recpetion is good enough where you dont HAVE to mount it outside.
