ok.... so my car has been smoking when i start it....only when its warmed up. It is oil smoke, and it only does it for a few then stops. I did a compression test and a leakdown test and all is well in the short block. Does this sound like valve guide seals to anyone? The motor only has 3000mi on it so i'm realy stumped, any ideas

Sounds like it. Did you do anything to the heads during the rebuild or just put them back on?

brand new edelbrock performer rpm....right out of the box....thats why i was sratching my head on the valve seals going bad in only 3000mi?

Now I see your point. Still sounds like valve seals to me but without having the car in front of me to check things out I can only guess. I sure as heck wouldn't think it would be the rings already unless they haven't seated yet for some reason.
