i'm so sad, someone hit my car over the weekend....it's not too bad but it just sucks since i just bought it! :-(
anyway...have you guys ever used or heard anything about:

COLLISION CLINIC INC
22327 HWY 99
EDMONDS, WA 98026

or

GERBER COLLISION & GLASS
6811 212TH ST SW
LYNNWOOD, WA 98036

I basically need a new bumper according to Corey...so I was just wondering if I could get any feed back about either of those shops since they're near by... Thanks! Maybe I'll post a picture later.

I have done business with them many times several years ago. They have always done good work and been a pleasure to deal with. GW is also just south of them on 99. I have never gone there but always heard good things about the shop, also several mustang parked out there of people that work there.

Check out

www.thoroughbredcc.com

They have one right there in edmonds. Insurance claims are no problem. They are a preferred body shop with many insurance companies and can get your car repaired right and done quickly. And all work has a lifetime warranty, paint included. Plus all repairs come with a detail.

I saw that on craigslist too. Sounds like it has a pretty deep scratch to need bondo, it is tempting to offer him 25 bucks though.

you're worried about that? maybe a heat gun/hair dryer would do the trick

That is an interesting idea, but I think the paint probably has a lower melting point than the plastic.

That bumper can easily be fixed. The bodyman will probably get about 3 hours to do so. It COULD be fixed almost perfect without having to paint it. If you want to stay away from insurance, send me a PM and I can see what I can do with it.

Let me know!

You could fix it, or you could do it right and get a new cover. Putting mud on a bumper thats supposed to flex doesn't really make sense

By the time you used a heat gun and bent the bumper around a little bit to get those creases out of it and sanded it back with 180. You'd probably have no "mud" on it at all.

You wouldn't use mud anyways, you use a flexible polyester filler that is meant for flexible repairs like bumpers.

Ok I figured you didn't know anything about body work so I did't want to get to complicated, so thats why I said mud. You would be suprised how many cars come through my shop with massive amounts of mud on bumpers. Still if it was mine I would get a new bumper no questions wouldn't even waist my time plus if a shop charges $50 per hour for paint and $50 for body work so your lookin at around 4 hours for paint, and 3-4 hours for body work so your total is around $400 in labor then you have paint and materials that were used, so your around $500-$600

End result might be a little cheaper to get a new bumper

Sorry if I came off as a dick lol Wasn't trying to be. Just trying to help them out and know that repair is an option. People do some crazy things to cars you're right about that. Its funny how people will "fix" cars.

And you're absolutely right about it maybe being cheaper to get a new bumper after you pay the bodyman his time. Atleast at my shop we will try to keep the repairs (if at all possible) under the cost of a new bumper to promote repairs.

Hopefully if you do get a new bumper though you dont end up with an aftermarket one. They dont fit nearly as good.

I have fixed several bumper covers with a heat gun, and both were worse than that.
Gerber in fife is where i took my focus when it was rear ended and they suck.

I had my GT's passenger door replaced after a lady at my work decided to back into the side of it. I went to Aldercrest Autorebuild in Lynwood. It's right off of 164th behind the old spaghetti factory. They do high end vehicles and do a good job, with good service. I've had 2 mustangs fixed there and been pleased both times.

BTW....sorry about the accident.
