It's primed and ready for my trip to Fort Knox. I've been all around the truck and can see that the brakes are in great shape. I've installed an exhaust brake that should help spare my some braking capacity when I pull a heavy load down moderate grades. All of the driveline fluids except the differential have been swapped. I did check the diff fluid and it looks fine. It's almost game time. I have high confidence it'll do its job well.
I just installed new Bilstein shocks all the way around. The truck is immaculate mechanically. I really enjoy the utility of it. It's sitting at 162k miles now and on the most recent tanks of fuel, it got 23mpg and 22.5 mpg. I'm sure it helps that I'm never in a hurry with it. The truck made the move to Fort Knox towing the trailer 3 times without incident. It pulled a 12k lbs trailer up a steep grade with the stock tune and no modifications. It even managed a 13mpg best tank while pulling that load. I'm totally thrilled, and plan to own it as long as it lasts, which should be by all accounts a very long time.
