any way to speed up rendering the file? clip is 7 mins 30 secs, I'm into the 8th hour, and it says 12 more hours and the time keeps climbing.

also, when I play the clip from the main screen, the video is really laggy, and unsynchronized with the audio. it skips frames about 40 at a time.

amd athlon xp 3200+
1.5 gigs ram
6600gt

its due in 21 mins, but I'm gonna hand in a messed up dvd and hopefully shell let me turn it in tomorrow.

oh yeah vegas 7.0 trial version.

I use 6.0 .... I've found it to be less of a PITA.

i found that it's a codec problem largely associated with the samsung digicam i used to record. a lot of the codecs dont work on the files from the cam, and the only codec that does seem to work (ACEMCP603PRO) makes it skip frames, and slows the rendering down to a snails pace (15 hours for only 343 frames of 14k)

any ideas?

whoops, sorry forgot about the size.

this is the first time i've use a video editing program, so im not completely sure what i'm doing. i'm done putting together the clips, but in order to burn it onto a dvd, i have to render (file >> render as), then use dvd architect to burn it correct? am i taking the wrong approach with this?

To make a DVD, you'll need to render twice, once is MPEG2 format, then in AC3 format.

Then with those 2 renders, you''ll compile it in DVD Architect

Also, to have faster rendering, close the preview window when rendering and hide all the tracks by adjusting the work area height.

im getting an error "cant allocate memory for dll" then it closes. gonna reboot and see if it persists.
