Henry,
I don't get you. You have complained about non tech in tech, you know there's a talk section, yet you post this silly thing here in tech? Why not post it in talk, where you know it belongs?

Hi guys,

Sorry, but I couldn't resist registering to post in response to this.

The "crappy blue Civic" above is my good friend's car. I own another "crappy red CRX", in fact I'm in the RevScene list posted as #3 fastest F/I and #10 on the fastest overall. I'm not here to toot my own horn but just to chime in that you can call BS all you want... I have timeslip after timeslip from MRP and Bluelight does as well. In fact, he posted a low 12 @ 112 mph with a 50 shot of nitrous immediately after running the 12.62. Look at the RS top 10 lists, it's in there under Forced Induction; the bastard beat me.

How do I know so much about his times? I was in the other lane when he ran it! I have the slip sitting beside me right now. I have video footage of him racing. I've even worked on his car, helped him a little bit with the tuning and watched him drop his time steadily over the past few years. It IS the real meal deal. And you wanna know the best part? The engine has completely stock internals! I'll wait for him to get home and post in response if he so chooses but feel free to ask questions, and thanks to everyone that didn't jump straight into import-bashing mode

Just 'cause we own imports doesn't mean we don't like and have a ton of experience with other cars, and props to everyone that isn't brand marque jingoistic either!

As for his revving to 8k.... haha... try more like 9k He's insane, but his setup works!

Heck, what is the deal?

I see a lot of tech here and remember I gave the warning up front that I do not post on the talk side.

Besides, the cartoon had some tech.....16.9 @ 80 MPH

For some reason, my age and my success seems to upset the same members over and over. Well, you are just gonna have to get over it!

Here is some more tech:

I've found the thread interesting and can't seem to understand why people choose to click on a thread, with only the intent to complain. (isn't that "non-tech.?) Let's stop splitting hairs, Sheesh!
P.S. Happy Holidays!

Well, I may not have started it, but I sure escalated it

Anyhow, I am not calling BS that there are 12 second (and faster) Honduhs out there. I was saying the car was not normally aspirated OR has been given an non-original motor OR had been stripped for weight. If he is getting ~200hp to the wheels with a 1.6-1.8 then he deserves credit. None of those things should take away from the overall goodness of getting a production passenger car into the 12s.

Buuuut....
I stand by the POS statement. I have driven over a dozen Honduhs in the last 20 years. They were all crap, good for a commute, or for someone who sees cars as toaster ovens or some similar appliance. Same goes for all the other JapCrap on the roads today (neither the Skyline or Supra are sold today in the USA) including my coworker's 12.9 second 350Z which I have driven on numerous ocaissons including the track
