I have a Question about spark advance and i was hoping someone could help me out. I have the software Engine analyzer pro and drag race pro from performance trends. There is a section where you can specify different spark advance curves for max performance. My Combo is:
347 mexican block
10.75-1 cr
Solid roller cam specs:281/285 adv 247/250 @.050 - .624/.624 lift @ .050 1.6RR ratio - 114 LSA - 110 ICL
Victor Jr. cyl heads, Out of the box
Track heat intake - 75mm TB - 90mm FFRP MAF
All motor

What would be a good curve for this motor at 80 to 100 % load?
1995 mustang gt
CBAZA Strategy ,Tweecer RT

Strickly a bracket car, NO street time at all
Thanks
Larry

Let me ReWord this post. Sorry for the confusion. Lets say with my above combo that 34 degrees advanced was the maximum spark without pinging. At what RPM should this amount of spark advance "34 degrees advanced" start? or should different degrees of spark advance start at different steps in the rpm range to create a broad spark curve? What would give me the most power?? Remember this is a footbrake Drag racing bracket car that strickly runs at WOT
Thanks guys i need your help on this one

I've always setup my street cars with total amount of 34 to 38
and
I've always setup the curve so it is all in by 2500

Aggressive ... Yes ... High Octane Required ... Yes

Been using that method W A Y back there
A bunch of years before there was ever a pcm involved :Word:

We used to use only one spring in the mechanical dizzy
or
If we could find em ... soft springs bought from some speed shop

Of course ... The idea was to get the advance to be quicker

Now ... When I got my little 95GT

I found when the E7 heads were stock
and
The pcm was untouched

All I could go up on the dizzy was about 4 to 6 before ping which
would have been about 29 to 31 total advance

I'd bet you'd do well to do it like we did back in the good ole days

As for drag racing ... No Different Really

I mean if you are serious about it ...
Ya ain't gonna let the rpm's fall below 2500 ... Are Ya
