I am going to be changing my spark plug wires for the first time. I read in one of the Mustang service manuals that you need to apply some type of lubricant inside the boots. Do I need to do this? Thanks for any help.

Its dielectric grease, and yeah use it, the keeps the boot from sticking onto the plug.

Just make sure you apply it all over and make sure you definitely use it on both ends. You can get it at any auto parts store.
