instead of a new thread, I'll just bump this one

just hit 100k and still have stock plugs. From what I read here, if it's running fine, don't mess with it?

I'm paranoid of stripping/breaking the plugs and causing more problems. May just let the dealer do it depending on $

The dealership just employs people. They aren't gods. This can happen to anybody. IF you are handy with cars, and have tools, do it yourself. I trust myself over most other people.

You should probably change them.

true, but if they **** it up, they fix it..

if I **** it up, well,

I consider myself handy and all, but when it comes to these new fangled cars and stuff, I tend to back off. It wouldn't be an issue if we didn't depend on the car so much for daily driving

I see your point but the dealer will be much less likely to pay attention to deatail as you would be. My car won't EVER see the stealership as its obviously not under warranty and I trust very few to wrench when I'm unable.

haha...yeah that's true, but I doubt they will put a head on it. They will just put a heli coil in it. This is very very simple. The kit I bought was on the Murrays HELP rack. No 100+ dollar Time Sert Kit etc... I tapped the head, then I inserted the heli-coil on the plug, put red loc-tite on the outside of the coil, then threaded it in there til snug, torqued it to about 13-14ft. lbs. and the thing never came back out. Track events, street beatings, revving, dyno pulls....nothing sent it back out. I'd rather spend 11 bucks on this kit than have them charge you for it. They might not do it for free. Dealerships will always try to point the finger back at you if it came back out 1,000 miles later, or 5,000 miles later.
