spark plugs??

Any tips on changing plugs in a 95 gt? Looks like a real pain.

I was not looking forward to it as well ... but the only real pain is the passenger side. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. A little advice ... on the passenger side, remove the air pump lines and valves - it will make it MUCH easier to install the plugs. The two rear-most plugs are difficult no matter what ya do - just take your time!

Also, take your air intake off, all the way up to the throttle body. It REALLY helps on the front ones. Make sure when you're pulling the plugs out, or putting them in, not to drop them. They can land in the lip of the K-member and you have to jack the car up to get to them. Just my .02

good luck! i just did a downs ford tune up kit to mine last week and on the right side i removed air intake boot and the egr pipe hoses to get access and it made it easier. the left side was easier except for cyl. #8 closest to the firewall. it turned out allright after that and your 5.0 will love you for it. i also got better gas mileage.

I'm pondering this on my 94 as well. I was thinking, the easiest way for my truck was to remove the tire and fender splash shield to get a better line to the plugs. As anyone tried this tactic on a Mustang?

come on guys, removing the tire. personally i have never had any REAL complications changing out the plugs. leave that to the CAMARO idiots. i've had 2 other mustangs and always switched them on my own. about extensions and stuff like that, you'll find out when you're doing it. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO AVOID ANY SMALL COMPLICATIONS, GET RID OF ALL YOUR SMOG EQUIPMENT, THAT'LL REALLY MAKE IT EASY, I CAN PULL ALL 8 PLUGS OUT AND CLEAN OR RE GAP THEM IN UNDER 15 MINUTES.

Or just delete it all..and you will see pass side plugs easily.

A NICE COLD BEER
Bust out a swivel spark-plug socket, makes it a little easier with a extension and they pop right out, make sure it is a swivel socket, don't try and use a ghetto universal swivel. I gutted the smog pump in my old 95 and did that ever make life easy on that side, even with it on though it is not bad if you take off the air intake. Should only be a one or two beer project if you have never done them before. Also get the cheapo autolite/motorcraft plugs. Have fun Dan

First off, I am TERRIBLE at doing any mechanical work.
These were not that bad, though. I picked up a swival socket and never used it. Just a 3/8 ratchet, 3" ext. and a spark plug socket.

Do remove the air intake and egr stuff.
