I'm looking for a 5.0 shortblock and found a guy selling a 1987 Lincoln Mark VII w/ 55k miles for $850. It apears that Lincoln made three versions of the 5.0 that year. A 150hp for the base models, a 200hp for most of the LSCs, and 225hp for the LSCs made right before the '88 models came out.

I can understand the difference between the 200 and 225 is due to the heads going from e6te to e7te. And it looks like the cam is the same for all models. I'm primarily concerned about weak compression ratios and pistons that wont work with AFR165s.

...but can anyone explain to me what was different on the 150hp engines?

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.
