Any car is too good for spinners. Except a Neon.

The "Spinners" or as they are actually called Knockoffs, really look ghetteo on these cars.

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/327921

http://www.cobraclub.com/cobragallery/showphoto.php/photo/2003/sort/1/cat/3016/page/1

FYI a 427 Cobra W/spinners went 0 to 100 and back to 0 mph in 14 seconds.. Those spinners really slow ya down.

And from the GT40 Ford

and here
http://www.cobracountry.com/GT40's-forsale/gt40-AcapulcoBlue-kress-pa.jpg

really Ghetto and speed killers as the GT40 is the only American car to win the 24 hrs of LeMans... which it did 4 times.

kill yourself

I am not totally against spinners like alot of people. My old Navigator had them, but NOT for a mutang. I am gettign 20s but they will be a nice black wheel with a chrome lip...........with no movement. Spinners are for SUVs and old caddys..........and drug dealers NOT for mustangs of any type

It seems like everytime we get a new model mustang theres these non-performance oriented morons who want to " pimp out " the new stang - ive seen it with the fox body , when the SN95 came out then the 99+ and now with the S197 nothing makes me more mad then a mustang with " Dubzz yo " ****ING IDIOTS

You can chill with the insults tough guy, don't let the internet write you a check that my foot in your ass can cash, I asked a question that's all. Not every Mustang owner is going to the track to burn rubber, taking out your a/c to run low 13's is asinine to me but hey whatever floats your boat. I've seen rides of all types "pimped" classly and badly, simply a matter of taste and design. But to call someone a moron because they dont plan on modding a car the way you seem fit is...well moronic.

It would be SOOO much easier if the bling bling crowd hadn't stolen the name of the spinner hub (that held on KNOCK OFF WHEELS) for their latest craze.

Back before this silly wheel thing got going, the spinner was the nut (usually 3 winged) that held on a knock-off wheel, no lug nuts.

Now we have confusion in the masses, because some illiterate marketing nerd somewhere decided to call a over-chromed spinning hubcap a "spinner".

Humph...

Man you guys are are seriously anal about anything popular huh? Let me guess, still wearing your tapered jeans and iron maiden t-shirts??

Making a car "bling" - Making a car go fast
Either way you are pretty much throwing money away, you are putting money into a liability.
I really don't see how making a car faster is any better than only working on the appearance.... you waste tons of cash to get some little slip of paper with a lower number on it and impress what.... a few random people at the track, wow there's a smart way to blow your money, your set for life now!

And to put things into perspective, just remember, there are SO many people that find a loud exhaust a LOT more annoying and stupid than spinners....

The same way you guys don't like spinners, there are twice as many people who think putting money into a car to make it faster is stupid and pointless.... you can only drive the thing so fast, maybe you'll get to the supermarket 3 minutes faster than the guy with the spinners.... hooray!

Women have it rough here!

They have to put up with car nuts when they ask a simple question.

God forbid they make a mistake with the "lingo"..

"knockoffs" is the correct phrase for the tribar option on the v-6 '05 cars. they simulate the halibrand and other sources of the '60's with pin drive wheel attachments. The tribar knockoff was a single fastener which was tightened or loosened with a rubber hammer. That held the wheel in place rather than 5 lug nuts. This technology was used alot in racing to make wheel/tire replacement easier.

Many companies adapted this idea to wire wheel covers and later, solid wheels to give a "race" look. Even the Magnum 500 wheels could be had with a tribar center section during that time.

Ms. 05Mustangbabie, My hats off to you for liking Mustangs !

Since when did people start thinking that getting your car to run faster was pointless and stupid.... much less twice as many that don't like spinners?!?!?

And speaking of things being popular, I thought "bling" was out.

For the record Spinners/knockoffs have been on a lot of racing cars and sport models. Here is the last page in this years Mustang Accessories catolog.
Scroll down to the wheels. Four diff wheels w/spinners, also Spinners alone that fit any of the 2005 17" wheels EXCEPT the Optional aluminum wheel.
See your Ford dealer and enjoy.

Simmer down.

I'm making a technical point. The management here wants this particular forum to deal with tech talk. Mods for appearances sake only would go into the exterior mods section. What part of that isn't crystal clear?

Yes, a Mustang IS too good for spinners. Might as well throw some hydrolics on it, and some of those cool light-up valve stem covers too.

A Mustang is a performance car. It's not a Navigator, or an Escalade, or any other g-ride.

Sorry, that's my opinion. As stated before, knock-offs, yes.. Spinners, no. There's a reason Ford went for that nostalgic look in the new Mustang. Why ruin it? A good blend of modern and classic is great. 18", 19" chrome rims, no problem. Chip Foose does it all the time, and I think it looks great. But spinners? Come on.
