Just starting to put my 69' Mach 1 back together after extensive metal replacement. Anyone installed the sport seat conversion from NPD? Thanks.

I've been trying to decide on doing this also. The back seat in my car was just redone recently and I need to do the fronts.

If I buy the sport seat kit I'll have to redo the back seat again since the kit is a 67style.

I'd like to know how comfortable the kit is after it is installed. If it still feels like my stockers, forget it.

TMI makes the kits and they will do custom work if you ask so maybe they will do one for you that will match your existing back seat.

Any way to get in touch with them directly? I'd like to at least ask if a 66 style is coming in the near future or what the cost would be of sewing in a 66 insert.

Why not just buy a set of Recaro seats from a 6 series BMW? They're better seats and they will cost no more money. The ones that came in the 85-89's were priced at $2k+ each in 1985. I've seen them on E'Bay for $500.00 and less.

Sorry, I've been gone a couple days. Thanks for the website.

My understanding is they have a 65-66 pony or a 67 style sport seat that will fit 65-65.http://www.virginiaclassicmustang.com/catalog/shop/item.asp?itemid=ST992

Have you seen an actual listing for a standard 66 style seat?

I have considered replacing the fronts with something different. The only thing I've seen that I like so far is out of a newer mach one.

What do they look like?

ahhh, you didn't say standard upholstery. sorry, i don't think they offer it in standard but i'm sure they'd custom make a set in standard in upholstery if you wanted.

Just standard BMW E30 (80s) seats are really comfortable as well with great bolsters. I'm 95% sure I'm going with these in my '67 to replace my '95 GT seats. Just need to take some measurements and make sure that I can adapt the mustang rails to the seat and make sure the seat height isn't more than the GT seats...

I received an e-mail from TMI today telling me they have a 65-65 standard sport seat and the part# is 43-70825-958.

The only problem is that she didn't tell me if the insert is from a 65 or a 66.

I'll be sending her another e-mail.......

Here are some off ebay - not the best condition, but give you and idea of the bolsters.

First is a "sport" seat that was done by Recaro

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/E30-...hash=item250213686601&_trksid=p3756.m20.l1116

Second is the "standard" seat with less pronounced bolsters (they're still pretty good when you sit in it)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-...hash=item150187873666&_trksid=p3756.m20.l1116

My buddy who's a BMW freak says you can get them all day long out of a Pick-A-Part for like $70. Recovering in leather is like $500 around Houston or $300 for vinyl. Not too bad!

Hmmm........the second set's not bad.

$100 for the seat. $300 for the vinyl. I might have to consider this as an option.

Thanks, If you get yours done, shot me a pic. I'd love to set them.

I'll try to get some pictures. There is at least one car in the shop I co-rent that has them in it.

BTW - That $300 was for both seats. Can't guarantee you'll get the same deal where you are, but there are a plethora of cheap upholstery shops in Houston.
