ok, not really cleaning, but getting started on my fox soon. it's a 5.0 91 LX hatch AOD, has 176K on it, all factory stock, it even had the air silencer in it when i bought it. i don't have a ton of money invested in the car, and don't plan to invest a lot either. i do want it to look a little nicer than it does now, but all it needs is some trim and a GOOD cleaning...anyway, it is time to start tuning it up real good, and i bought a bunch of stuff yesterday, and have a few more things to get, but this should get me rolling pretty good for a while:

5% tint is being done tomorrow (4/13/07)
new Monroe struts and shocks
plugs/plug wires
distributor cap/rotor button
oil and filter
fuel filter
serpentine belt
180 t-stat
speedo cable

still got to get:
fuel pump
the sensor on the distributor, can't remember what it is called...
"B" or "C" coil springs

i could probably go on and on, but like i said, i am not going to invest a lot of money in this car, it's basically a beater we drive to keep from getting my wife's 2006 GT beat up in parking lots and whatnot...at least it will be more presentable with this stuff...let me know if there's anything else i should change, it already had a new water pump/radiator hoses and radiator on it when i bought it, they are only about 1 year old now...

Congrats on finding a factory stock Fox!

Few things I might do. Clean all your grounds, clean battery cables and test for voltage drop, check all wires underhood for good insulation and tidy connections. Replace vacuum lines if they look dry. Maybe replace ALL fluids, PS, Trans, brake, rear, coolant. Check all your bushings.

After you do this and all the other MECHANICAL things you listed, THEN start buffing and waxing.

Fun "Beater"! Probably won't be for long. "Beater" that is!
