Squiking noise and EXEDY FMK1026 Clutch

Hi,
Hope that’s located, I’m still clinging tightly to a belt driven accessory issue contributing to this, if not responsible to all of it, lol!
I’ll be certainly looking for your next post!
Yes, the Clutch type pulleys & setup on the 11’ up GT’s Alternators has been another issue in many Cars, they’d corrected it in the 13’s up. Impala’s a sweet Car, what year?
Busy? As they say, “No rest for the Wicked”!lol
Take care!

Well got news today, they drove the car cold without Belts and the noise is still there....that cancel all beltdriven accessories out.
They also cancel Wheelbaring and stuck Brake parts out, because of the change of the sound if the clutch is pressed, they say it is "load" reletad and with that information i got send home.

There are only two and a half thing´s that come too my mind after all of that: Some Bearing on the Axle/Diff or the Driveshaft (i have no clue how to test it)
or something is rubbing somewhere but that seems od do to the load thing.

Yea, trying to keep my head busy, while the damn car sat in the parking lot for two weeks. I will not drive it untill i have a solution. My fear is, that something will block or get torn off while driving on the Autobahn at higher speed.
We restoring a 1966 Impala two door hard top. I curently try to get interior part´s (Impala-Bob seems to be a good adress) We also have a 1959 Doge Coronet there but it´s in very bad condetion( rust and we discoverd a crack in the 5.3l block -.-).

I hope your safe over there, the news here are full of claches between police and protesters...

Hi. Well-I was going to suggest that, the thing you have to remember when test driving it is whether it seems to ring out as a result of RPM. Or speed, meaning as you’re driving it, swap gears and see if the noise changes with speed or engine RPM
Therein lies the difficulty in diagnosing in how it acts as you’re going fast or slower, if a specific gear makes the noise louder, and if RPM related. Gosh, really sounded like a belt driven area, but- need to move o Hate process of elimination, but on a positive note you know have the Belt accessories are solid, and ruled out.
You replaced the pilot bearing when you reinstalled the clutch- right?
A quick test is spraying a ldecent amount of the spray-type lithium grease on the Clutch’s Throwout bearing to clutch finger area. Use care so it doesn’t end up on the clutch, pressure plate or flywheel mating surfaces. Then drive it. See if that quiets it down.
I have to text more later, leaving for Mom’s, will respond more then.
Greer. It’s getting me anxious, want this repaired so you can drive it. Try that. see what happens, then move on when you post that- k?
The squeal can be a dry or damaged bearing, or driveshaft hitting the exhaust when on the ground. Are you certain the rear end is full of lube?
The Trans?
Ok, talk later today-k?
- Smile my friend, we’ll catch it. It can be a large issue, more likely a simple one
Look for evidence marks on the driveshaft, spray lube over each exposed part assembly as you move on.
Wheel bearing is a possibility, if you pull a tire, preferably front, look for any rust colored debris around a wheel bearing.
What was the last thing done to the car before this started again?
Best, buddy!

Hey John, hope you doing well. :)

The Mystery is finally solved and it was a ridiculous simple fix.

Danny, my Brothers new Brother in Law (sorry don´t know the Term for it) got the right clue. I gave him the car to do some tests. He found realy quickly out that the noise came from the passanger side rear axle. He suggested to change the Rotors and Pads, because my old ones wherer slightly "burnt" blueish and rusty and to take a look at the e-brake.

So i changed the Rotors and Pads and noticed that the E-Brake doesent free completly the Disc after turning the e-Brake off. I cleand it and put the car in gear after parking it and no noise since than.
I could not be happier at the moment. :D

It´s astonishing that a US Car specialist in my area doesnt found out, that the damn Handbrake was the culpit all the time....but to be fair the loed related difference in sound may be the distrection from a hanging Brake for him.

I realy have to thank you for all your support. You helped me a lot to get through it.
I invite you for a Beer, if you ever come to Germany

Stay safe and have a nice Day
Greeting Michael

Ps. Some pics of my dream car after the fix and i painted the rims yesterday.

:nice: Hi,
So this happened because you were doing ripping the EBrake at 100MPH and doing those 720 Degree spins on the Autobahn-right? lol!
Seriously, happy you’re rolling again! That must have been rough...
“Occam’s Razor”.. "the simplest solution is most likely the right one" ...
Its unfortunate that the tests run by who you’d sent it to didn’t provide clear results. Confusing.
Then the “They also cancel Wheelbaring and stuck Brake parts out” comment.
they were WRONG!lol!
Your Pony Car looks great, you’ve got the best security system on the planet sitting in front of it, too. Pit Bull? (Staffordshire Terrier)..
Should rub this in the Shop’s face, BUT...they don’t deserve your time...Send your Dog in...he’ll get the message across!lol
No...no Violence. Too much of that already!
There’s kind of a bittersweet taste in all this, the (few) things that needed to be replaced - were..
Be cool to say Hi in person, maybe see Rammstein play live, I really do want to hit the Autobahn at least once....
How MUCH Beer? lol!
Take care, my friend! Drop me a PM sometime!
Best!

Hey John, hope everything is well on your side of the great Lake. :)

Hehehe jo, i´m still a little bit mad at the shop, but f..... it. Lesson learned, time to go on. I saw Rammstein last year live, it is a must do. I´m still flashed from it. Nothing beats the Fire show on the song "Sonne"

I have bad news..kind of.
That lovely noise is back! To be honest it was only a couple of weeks away. Than it startet to come back on rainy weather and now even if it´s dry as a bone outside.
Something i did while i changed the rotors and pads did quit the noise for a short period. I´m 99% sure that it has something to do withe the Brake caliper. But I dont know what.

I Love that damn Car, but boy does it is a pain in the Butt at times....i think that is meant: "The Car has character" :D
