It's only an automatic for the first year. Calm down guys.

And they are the only company that is actually selling a true "stripper" model. No stereo, no sound deadening, no carpet (I think). Purely a stripper model. It's gonna be awesome. And after the manual comes out, it will be badass.

The FIRST year is the most important. As I said earlier, it'll be the enthusiasts that want to buy the first year. Why not give THEM what they want? DC has their head up their ass sometimes. And as I said earlier, initially, they told all the enthusiasts that the first year would be manual only. Quite a departure from what they're doing. Though, after seeing the interior, doesn't look like a lot of enthusiasts will be buying. Just the hardcore ones that want it because of the name.

BTW, Ford also sells a stripped version called Body In White. You want to build an awesome race car, that's where you start.

I've always read a standard s197 Gt coupe weighs in at 3480.

The challenger is a beautiful car but 4150lbs???!!!!!

Once again DC has swung and missed.

They still can't design a muscle car to compete with a mustang GT. Yes, it might be fast with a 6.4L 500 hp hemi but that's a $40,000 MSRP. That's not competion for a $27,000 car. 2 different classes of cars as far as I'm concerned.

Then they'll bring out the R/T version with a 5.7 hemi and it will cheaper BUT now you've only got 350HP to move a 4,000lb barge.

With 4000 lbs + you need a lot of hp to make it fast and that means a high price tag. They could have designed a 3500 lb car, dropped a 5.7 hemi in it and called it a day.
You would have had a fast AND affordable muscle car to give mustang sales a run.
But DC hasn't caught on to this.

I hope Ford keeps the next gen stang as light or lighter, so we don't need 500 hp and 40 grand to run a 13 sec 1/4.

I agree 100%. Only those who pray to the holy altar of Hemi and have alot of excess $$$ will be in love with this car. The rest of us will stick with our Mustangs, Vettes , F-bodys and classic musclecars. 4150lbs??? Hell my GSX only tips the scales at around 4000lbs with me in it and it was built at a time when they actually used steel and cast iron instead of aluminum and plastic.
