When I start my stang, sometimes it doesn't start right off and seems to be flooded. Any ideas?

Never give it gas when you start it.

mine does the same thing,I don't think it's flooding though, I think it's not getting enough fuel. When I go to start my car I turn the key forward to accsesory for a second to give the fuel pump time to come on,then engage the starter. It works for me anyway, but then again you may have a different problem.

I never said that I give it gas when I start it. Duh... I turn the key over to let the fuel pump prime the lines. Once I don't hear the pump, I engage the starter. In the morning, it starts up just fine, but after it warms up, it doesn't seem to start as easy. I end up having to let it turn over more than normal to get it to start and it acts as if it doesn't want to.

Just a shot in the dark. You didn't describe how you start the car, or much of the symptoms or behavior (like when it happens, it takes 3 tries to start, or it won't start for 5 minutes etc.), so you are bound to get all kinds of wild guesses for answers. Now you've given some more of the bahavior, so you might get better comments. But I have no other ideas.

My 02 GT has problems starting too. Its totally random as far as when it will happen, but usually about 1-3 times per week. It will either take about 3-4 seconds to start OR it will sound like its struggling to start (you know how you get the loud "VROOM" upon ignition? Well it won't do that, it will just kind of slowly turn over). It always starts though, just kind of weird. I took it to Ford and they gave me a free new starter which didn't help at all. No clue what it could be, but apparantly a lot of people have this problem...
